STEM education is vital in our world today!  Person Early College For Innovation and Leadership.  Our STEM education extends through the our HealthCare Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing, Technology, and College Transfer, pathways which we refer to as HATT.  Students choose from one of those pathways, which  provides comprehensive instruction that integrates the STEM subjects throughout the curriculum and offer students a variety of avenues for learning to think critically and creatively.

Our High School classes integrate STEM concepts throughout their curriculum as well and together with Peidmont Community College better prepares  our students to address the increasingly challenging issues of a global community. One way in which we do that is by incorporating the Grand Challenges of Engineering into our schoolwide curriculum.  The school selects a Challenge to focus on and as a school develop a yearlong project to research, explore and problem solve, while connecting with community and industry in an effective manner.  Through this process, students acquire the tools to solve complex problem which also helps build confidence in their abilities. 

Through STEM education our students will build a foundation for challenging and  rewarding careers in the fields of science,technology, engineering, and mathematics and with our additional focus on character and leadership they could assume leadership roles in their chosen professions and communities. This combination of STEM, Service Learning, Character and Leadership provides Person Early College students with the real-world knowledge and practical experience needed to become informed citizens, effective leaders and good stewards of community resources.
